Did you have a fabulous thanksgiving? I did. I LOVE Turkey day for many reasons but mostly for the GREAT food made by my love (the best CHEF ever!), our exquisite family and friends, and lots and lots of details. Yes, details. I am a huge detail person. Maybe it’s because I have photographed weddings for years, and capturing the details that make up a beautiful wedding just make my toes tingle with joy. My wedding experiences inspire me to capture the details of my own life.
I recently found this quote by James McBride, “As a journalist, the details always tell the story.” This got me thinking; as moms taking pictures of our kiddos, aren’t we the journalist for our families? YES WE ARE! Every time you pull out your camera, look beyond what is right in front of you. Take pictures of the details that help tell the complete story of the moments you want to save.
Here are the pictures from my Thanksgiving told solely with details:
**Tip** When you take detail picture s, don’t just move the lense back and forth, move your body too! Try different angles and heights **
If you get a detail image you just love, please email it to me so I can look at it and give you some pointers! ~xoxo~
